With the growing concerns about the impact of COVID-19 on our customers’ operations, and our own, we recognised that it would be beneficial to expand our training offering to also include virtual training sessions. This allows individuals or teams to join a training course from wherever they are, while still enjoying the benefits of having a specialist trainer on hand to deliver the content and answer questions.

We appreciate that different organisations, teams, and individuals will have different needs at this time. Some may need direct support with Crisis Management and Recovery, others may be looking for ways to support staff and their mental wellbeing during this period of uncertainty. Others, still, may be experiencing decreased workloads, and are looking for virtual training services to help upskill employees in preparation for the future.

Our aim when designing our virtual training programme has been to provide the critical skills that will support individuals, teams, and organisations in responding to the unique challenges of the current situation, with a particular focus on Crisis Management and Recovery, Technical Tools Training, Mental Toughness, and Coaching, as these are the areas our customers have told us are needed right now. However, we are able to create bespoke training programmes according to your specific needs, so please do get in touch if there is anything we can do to support you at this time.

FAQs

We are starting off by running a series of sessions on using Microsoft Teams, to help organisations run virtual meetings more effectively.  These will be 30 minute sessions and will be free of charge.

We are also pleased to offer a series of free sessions on Mental Toughness, run by our Head of Leadership Development, Lucy Finney. These hour-long sessions will focus on a range of different topics to help your build and maintain your resilience and mental toughness during uncertainty.

In addition, we are also offering virtual sessions on some of our most popular courses including Excel, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6 (see below for full details of dates, times, and topics) and we will be adding more dates and topics in due course. These sessions are charged at ÂŁ35 per person, but discounts are available for bulk bookings.

Our aim to to provide the most valuable learning opportunities to our customers, and we can run virtual sessions on whatever you like, so please contact us let us know what you would like to see on the programme.

If you are looking to train up your team on a specific topic, please get in touch and we can create a bespoke virtual training package for your needs. Our virtual training offering can cover all of our subject areas including management and leadership, business skills, personal effectiveness, technical and office programmes, and project management.

Participants can join our virtual training sessions from wherever they are based, all they need is access to a computer and the internet. The sessions will be run via Microsoft Teams, but you don’t need to have Teams on your machine – we will send you a link to the web application if needed.

Once you’ve joined the meeting your trainer will briefly introduce themselves and the topic being covered. They will then do a quick demonstration of a skill, and provide you with an exercise to complete, to put your new skills into action. You are welcome to ask questions throughout the session, and if you are comfortable doing so, you can share your screen to get advice from the trainer.

In addition to a laptop and internet access (and a quiet place to sit), you’ll also need access to any software you’re attending the course on (Excel, Word, Project etc.). Other than that, you don’t need anything. Your trainer will provide all of the exercises on the day, and you’ll receive a digital copy of the workbook used during the course (not applicable to Microsoft Teams or Mental Toughness sessions).

Sessions on Excel, Microsoft Project and Primavera are 45 minutes long.

Our Microsoft Teams sessions are 30 minutes long, and our Mental Toughness webinars are one hour.

Each session will cover a specific topic (please see session descriptions for details), but questions are welcomed.

Each 45 minute sessions is ÂŁ35 per person, but you can receive a 10% discount if you want to book multiple sessions – ÂŁ125 for four sessions, or ÂŁ250 for eight – that’s a 10% discount compared with booking each session individually. And you can mix and match sessions depending on what feel would be of most use to you.

All of our Microsoft Teams and Mental Toughness sessions are being offered for free.

If you would like to book a place, please email training@underscore-group.com stating the date and sessions you’d like to attend. Our booking team will get back to you to confirm your place and give you full details.

We can also run these sessions for groups of your staff at dates and times to suit you, just let us know what you would like.
